Do you have symptoms of COVID-19?

Are you experiencing fever, cough, and shortness of breath? If you think you may have coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms or exposure, please stay at home to protect yourself and others. The best first step is one of our remote resources:

  • Engage with our symptom checker chat box. Get your questions answered and be routed to the right care for your unique situation from this page.

CHI St. Joseph’s Health is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in more than 100 locations internationally, including in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”). COVID-19 is a viral respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus that has not been found in people before.  Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties.

CHI St. Joseph’s Health has developed a task force that meets regularly to examine and work on preparations regarding the coronavirus, modifying plans based on cases that may develop by using recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). To protect the health and safety of our patients and staff, CHI St. Joseph’s Health has made the decision to institute a limited visitor policy.  Please refer to the Visitor Policy Guidelines below, which are specific depending on procedure type. We will make every effort to facilitate communication with the family or caregiver on a regular basis regarding the plan of care and discharge needs. Family and friends are encouraged to use alternative methods of communication with patients such as phone calls, Facetime, Skype or other digital methods. Please recognize that these restrictions are meant to protect the entire community.  Other measures will be taken across departments at CHI St. Joseph’s Health so that we may continue to provide high quality care and protect the health and safety of our patients and staff.
