PARK RAPIDS, MN (November 13, 2024) – Kick off the holiday season with a dazzling array of festive events in downtown Park Rapids on Friday, November 29th. Join us for an evening of holiday cheer, highlighted by the spectacular lighting of the community Christmas tree on Main Street.
Yuletide Sampler (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM): Begin your evening with the annual Yuletide Sampler. Enjoy complimentary cookies, hot chocolate, and treats offered at participating downtown businesses as a thank you to the community. This is also a perfect opportunity to start your holiday shopping.
Heartland Lakes Community Tree Lighting & Light of Hope Ceremony (6:00 PM): Witness the magical lighting of the beautifully decorated Christmas tree on Main Street. This year’s ceremony will include the Light of Hope for Hospice Care, honoring the memory of RoJean Cummins. Donations in honor or memory of loved ones directly support local hospice care. “A Very Good Christmas Carol” (7:00 PM, November 29th & 2:00 PM, November 30th): Enjoy a free, family-friendly performance of a two-person adaptation of the classic “Christmas Carol,” immediately following the tree lighting on Friday with a repeat show on Saturday at 2pm at the Armory.
Throughout the evening, enjoy Christmas carols, Santa’s arrival, carriage lights, and a local holiday play. Remember loved ones this season by placing an unbreakable ornament on the Memory Tree in Pioneer Park on Main Street.
