Meet Dr. Bradsky: Connecting with Patients, Inside and Out
Dr. Bradsky chose Internal Medicine because she loves the challenge of thinking critically and the deep connections she gets to build with patients and their families during their hospital stay. For her, it’s all about providing comprehensive care while truly connecting with people.
What truly lights up Dr. Bradsky’s work in hospital medicine is the opportunity to move beyond symptoms and get to know the person her patients are. She cherishes the ability to build relationships over several days, making the healthcare journey a more personal one.
Dr. Bradsky’s approach to patient care is guided by a simple yet powerful philosophy: she treats the whole person, not just their illness. She believes that understanding a patient’s life beyond their symptoms is crucial for effective treatment and for ensuring they leave the hospital set up for lasting health and a life full of possibilities. “I want to set my patients up for success outside of the hospital to live their lives to the fullest potential!” she says.
When it comes to health advice, Dr. Bradsky always reminds us that taking care of yourself is just as important as caring for others. She’s also a big believer in being your own best advocate, emphasizing, “you are your best advocate and you know your body best.” She deeply values listening to her patients, knowing that their voice is essential.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bradsky loves spending time outdoors with her husband, two dogs, and cat. Excitingly, she’s expecting twin boys in October and can’t wait for the joy they’ll bring! Her secret to unwinding? A little “mindless” TV after a busy day.
Here’s a fun fact about Dr. Bradsky: She’s the fourth of nine siblings! Growing up with five sisters and three brothers has given her a unique perspective and, as she puts it, “eight built-in best friends.”
